“Flow measurements ... from imagination to reality“
The AEThER (Advanced Experimental Thermofluid Research Laboratory) Lab is specializing in experimental fluid mechanics and we apply our knowledge and expertise across a range of engineering and scientific challenges, including:
-
‣Measurement Science: We develop new or improve existing measurement methods for experimental fluid dynamics and broadly experimental mechanics.
-
‣Biomedical Engineering: We research the fluid mechanics of cardiovascular disease, including coronary disease and heart failure, and we develop new implants, novel diagnostics and targeted drug delivery methodologies.
-
‣Bio-inspiration: We interface biology and fluid mechanics to draw inspiration from nature in order to develop next generation engineering systems.
-
‣Energy: We develop technologies for cleaner and more efficient energy production including fossil fuels, turbomachinery, nuclear energy and renewable energy (solar wind and hydropower).
Our group includes undergraduate and graduate students, post-docs, and faculty conducting fundamental and translational research of thermofluid sciences and mechanics across interdisciplinary interfaces.
